No, not that Matt Ward. The other Matt Ward.

Hey! My name is Matt Ward. I'm the Associate Pastor of First Baptist Church Thomson GA. I'm married to Shelly, and we have two kids Micah and Sarah. I have an engineering degree from Texas A&M University, and multiple theology degrees from MBTS and SWBTS. By all means, comment on what you read! I'm an informal writer who likes to learn new perspectives. I do have an anti-troll policy, but that policy is pretty generous . . .

I suppose my perspective is a little unique in that I became a Christian later in life and worked in pipeline operations/simulation for Koch Industries for 3 years before being called into Christian ministry. Since then, I have served churches in Missouri, Texas, and now Georgia in music and discipleship (and of course administration). We are blessed with a great church family that encourages me to serve, grow, love, and keep learning.

I am a part of a fascinating group called the Center for Pastor Theologians (see the links page). I'll send you to their page for more information about the various topics we study and discuss. But I can say that we represent a wide range of churches and theologies and yet can have meaningful discourse that is both frank and gracious. If we can do it, anybody can do it. All it takes is respect and Christian love.
